Reflections for Session 5

I like Dr Quek's "Jigsaw" method, each group to take a section and help one another in preparing the background work of the individual write up. At least now have a clearer picture of what's expected for the write-up. Guess have to read some more articles and try to internalise the concepts and understand the statistical part, before starting out to do the write-up. I've gained much from this session!

Reflections for Session 4

After reading those articles on LE, been wondering how am I going to do the statistics part? I have no knowledge and skills as to how to analyse and interpret the data! Dr Quek introduced SPSS in this session and showed us how to input the raw data and the system would analyse the results. Wow, impressive! But the next problem is how to interpret the results? Think really really require a longer duration on how to use the SPSS and how to interpret the results.

Reflections for Session 3

Beginning to be more familiar with the LE terms such as perception, behaviour, attitude, attributes, outcomes etc...and have the big picture of what, why, how to assess LE and how to improve LE. Thanks, Dr Quek! So, there are so much to study for LE! Then James came along and introduced more skills in blog, now I feel more confident in using blog. A beneficial session 3, but still wondering what is the expectations of the individual written assignment? Hope that we would be given enough time to complete.

Reflections for Session 2

Hi friends of this module out there, do you share the same feeling as me at session 2 -- confused? We are supposed to read some LE about local LE and create powerpoint slides to do the student-seminar on Thurs. But all our readings are on LE on other countries and I couldn't find any LE on local...So in the end just read those articles given...Then got one concern : if every group is to present two articles, aren't we going to hear the same article being presented more than once? Shouldn't there be some discussion as to which group presenting which article, so there won't be repetitions?

Reflections for Session 1

After attended the pre-session of 858, I felt very overwhelmed and apprehensive about the online learning approach. Have been hearing so much about blogging, facebook and wikispace, but no time to venture. So now given this opportunity, I've finally created my first blog and facebook, and able to use wikispace. These modes of technology are new to me but I would like to explore and make use for sharing and communicating with friends out there.

After reading the articles stated in the first session, I was overwhelmed, again! So much to read. Wow, there are so much to learn about learning environment and so many theories to understand. Got to know what NLE, PBL, LEI, CES, ICES, MCI, QTI, CLES etc....nearly got nightmare about them! But after reading the articles, I have a clearer picture what's LE, why learn LE and researches about LE. Interesting!

I like the reflection at the wikispace that provides a platform for us to post our thoughts to share with one another. Pardon me but I find that the posting of reflections at the wikispace very messy. Maybe should add in one or two pages for each readings, and all the posting for reading 1 will be on these pages, reading 2 on next few pages, reading 3 on next few pages and so on. Currently, all the posting of reflections are on one page.

Well, I think that this module is really practical and meaningful and I would enjoy it!
